I didn't expect to enjoy this book. I had read the reviews, heard the praise and I had also heard the critiques, which were dooming.
I wouldn't say I LOVED this book, but I definitely enjoyed it. The transformation of the author was fascinating to watch. The beauty of her journey amazing. And the people she meets along the way! What I wouldn't give to be able to meet those same colorful characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Although some parts were too drawn out (India), I found myself laughing out loud through most of it. Yes, she is fortunate enough to have the luxury of taking a year off to travel & experience what she has, but how many of us, if given the opportunity would actually do it? So, I read that this is being made into a movie. But, its starring Julia Roberts. I'm not feelin' THAT.
This author has a very charming writing style. I also have a lot of appreciation for the experiences she had and the reason she decided to ensure that she had them. It captures a lot of the issues that are core to femininity and being a woman. As I've mentioned, it took me a bit to get past my perception that the author romanticized depression.
