Loved this book! Similar to Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods. Except it's the Pacific Coastal Trail instead of the Applachian Trail. The narrator is female instead of male. And it's more serious in tone than A Walk in the Woods.

I started this month's ago put it down then really started reading recently. I thought it was well written, I felt like her start was very inspiring, and this book took me in an emotional rollercoaster, I would recommend for anyone to read, very empowering.

I loved this book! Cheryl Strayed manages to take you with her on both her journeys, physical and emotional. She relays her struggles with grief and on the trail without self pity. An inspiring read.
I found this memoir really engaging and enjoyable. I thought this was going to be about months spent hiking without encountering another soul; I didn’t realise there were stops along the way and other people on the trail (which goes to show how much I know about hiking!). In fact the importance of souls encountered on the trail became touchingly prominent, as did the importance of books and food.
