This book gets a solid 3 stars from me. It's clear that Benjamin Saenz, the author, really is a poet: the writing is lyrical, soft, and almost comforting, in some specific way I have yet to really explore. The other thing I really appreciated about the book was that it's set during the summer - hot, stormy, El Paso, TX summer - which is strangely magical in and of i ...more

I loved the beginning, the middle was meh, and the ending was decent.
I don't think dramatic, 14-15 year old teenage boy novels are for me, they just leave something to be desired. I think my main problem was lack of plot, it kinda doesn't go anywhere and I'll probably avoid these books in the future. ...more
