I've definitely not been in a YA mood of late (I've DNF'd four books this month), but this one was pretty good! The character was just familiar enough to be relatable without too much of the unfortunate tropes that tend to plague YA heroines. It surprised me by being a lot darker than I anticipated in places, taking some of the usual plot points you see and making them a bit more real and mean.
