I bought this for my sister a while ago, and always meant to read it, but in the end I ended up reading it on the HarperCollins site, when they put it up as a free browse inside thing. It's up right now as I write this, but I don't know how long for. It is/was here, though.

I am so glad this book wasn't around when I was a kid. It has everything that really interested me at that age (small girl heroes, secret worlds, marbles) but wrapped in the most horrific imagery I've come across in recent children's lit. If I had gotten ahold of this it would have kept me up far more nights than The Witches ever did.

felt like it had 2 endings which was kinda odd
I was surprised by how closely the movie followed this book, as I had seen the movie long before I picked up this book. It's a great short and spooky read that is perfect for Halloween coming up. Gaiman is a fabulous storyteller.
