This is a powerful book about Stalin Russia, ranging from the Terror to its effects in present day. I'm a little ashamed to admit how little I knew about this tragic era in Russia's history, including how many Americans had emigrated to Russia and were lost, as well as the role that American leaders played (or notably didn't play).
