Rosemary Harper is our entry way into the motley crew of the Wayfarer. She's the new admin person for the captain, Ashby, and learns to enjoy Sissix, the reptilian pilot from a polyamory society, Dr. Chef, one of the last of his kind who cares so much for his crew, Kizzy who reminded me of Kaylee from Firefly, and Jenks, the engineer in love with the ship's AI, Lovey. This book is very character-based with little plot, and I enjoyed it a whole bunch.

This is a charming sci-fi romp that is essentially Firefly, the book. It's a lovely, warm, comforting read (I kept expecting something seriously bad to happen, and instead most conflicts were resolved without much death or destruction). Definitely one I'll come back to over and over again!

It's slice of life in space, Mass-Effect-like, but just regular sentients. All the things I love about space stories, and more. Beautiful and fun and sad and so happy.
