Loved even more the second time around. Super hot alpha male, sweet corky, slightly infuriating, but endearing female. Classic KA at her best! Upgrading the rating from 4 to 5 Stars! Happy reading!

Definitely the weakest one in this series thus far. I absolutely hated both protagonists and if not for the ending would have rated this a 1.

I really have a hard time getting into this one, and I only really get interested towards the end. It is pretty uneventful, which isn't a problem but with 2 mains that are not my cuppa and the bulk of the focus on them, it takes me longer to read it.

Our h is honestly unbelievable, and not in a good way. I know sometimes KA h can get on my nerves with their cluelessness and breathy okay, but this one really got me so annoyed I literally have a headache from refraining to scream. She is flighty, head in a cloud, which is fine but considering the danger she blithely gets herself into, this makes her look really dumb, I am sorry to say, and totally not acting like a mature woman of over 30. I can probably be more understanding if she is 15, well maybe still not. Yet we are told she obviously is v smart, yadda yadda yadda, which makes her a contradiction. We are also told she has a temper, yet she blew up at the most asinine matters and when I was gritting my teeth at other times we totally didn't see this side of her. Instead she got ploughed over every single time by our H,without much of a bleep. Her quickly folding makes her a doormat also v weak in character. This also comes with tons of needless prevarications, I have to read through 10 pages of her not wanting to tell H something that really isn't a big deal to me, but worst is she basically folds anyways, so wasted my time. Her actions also are so off the wall ridiculous I just cannot keep rolling my eyes, it just is too much to suspend my disbelieve that someone is like that naive, trusting and so giving she basically bends herself backwards and even betray her own believes to help others minimally. I would have felt better if the reason is a lot more dire, maybe shelter is going to be closed but for a bus, her justification simply escapes me. Again makes her totally living in lala land, not in a good way, and pretty dumb. KA h are mostly portrayed as sweet and giving, yet in here with H's brutish behavior, it makes it such an unequal relationship that I am not even sure I can be happy for them when they are together.

Our H is probably the absolute worst I have read in this series, unexpectedly. He has no redeeming quality at all, he uses any means at his disposal to make h does as he wants, be it blackmail, sex withholding, physical restrain etc etc. This couples with his view of our h for most of the book even after they are together makes it more like a v distasteful relationship than a loving one. He remained unmoved at h's tears after humiliating her, and without thought for her comfort or desire, always wants things his way. Yes he is supposed to be ott highhanded, but this to me crossed that point and it borders disturbingly on the wrong side of a relationship, while it isn't strictly abuse, it also not what I think a relationship should be. Even after he realised he is wrong, he never apologised, his "courting" is again done through demands and forcing h into things, so I honestly don't even know why he bothers. Or maybe I do, he probably cannot do it normal given h's really dumb and abnormal reactions to things. But still for over 75% of the book, I didn't feel anything from him except desire, even in his head we are not given much info regarding his feelings for the h that makes her anything but someone he likes to be around and sleep with.

The way things go from the beginning for this pair just totally ruins the book for me I think. I find it v distasteful and disgusting, especially with both character's reactions. Our h is humiliated yet she treats H with stars in her eyes, that didn't work for me as I found her really without backbone especially when H's just plain demeaning and insulting, honestly what is wrong with her to be so desperate and without self respect? H is totally horrible, even with imaginary threats that wasn't carried out, I cannot respect either of them. Granted, H did take care of h physically, yet a lot of times her emotional wellbeing was never addressed well by him for me. Also there are so many little lies and secrets on both sides I just didn't like. Makes the whole great love thingy a real joke in my book. H never really changed or softened much towards the end and it just didn't do it for me.

Story is redeemed by the supporting casts, which are all v interesting and fun to read, and also how things panned out in the end. ...more
