Re-Read, 2024
Oh-no! Ha! I have some mixed feelings this time but I'm definitely glad I did the re-read in preparation for the new release.
I'm not sure what exactly didn't work this time. It could be Rus and Lucinda. It could just be Rus.
It wasn't bad it just felt a little off this time. Let's just stick with the below, yeah?

Quick(ish) Review
Color me pleasantly surprised. I liked the first book, but I wasn't blown away by it. I think this one flows much better because the story is told strictly in third person and from the perspective of the investigator, which makes the mystery take center stage and makes it overall more interesting for me. The story being focused on BDSM elements, the occasional foray into HGtV descriptions and a FMC who dresses like a classic Hitchcock heroine, yeah very KA and that is a particul ...more

Zachariah 'Rus' Lazarus and Lucinda 'Cin' Bonner
Rus comes to MP after a young woman is found murdered in the same vain as a serial killer he's been tracking. He immediately knows that something is not right with this particular case.
So with the help of the local sheriff, Harry Moran, and former FBI profiler, Cade Bohannan he sets out to find who this young lady's killer is.
That puts him in the path of Lucinda, who he is immediately intrigued by.
I liked that Rus was all about business. Even tho ...more
