Make It Sweet is a beautiful romance that at times was sweet and swoony.
“If you ask, I’ll hold you. I won’t let go until you feel safe again. Ask me, Em.”
Both of the main characters in this story are bringing some pretty big issues to the table.
Lucian (Luc) Osmond doesn’t know how to be anyone but one of the best centers in the game (known as “The Great & Powerful Oz”.) He hasn’t come to terms with life after hockey.

My advice to you before reading this book: Eat well. And get that dessert. Because you'll be kicking yourself it you don't, after you finish this book.
This lives up to the title and then some. Both Luc and Emma are grieving for a lost job - Luc's hockey career because of chronic concussions, and Emma being axed from her popular TV show. Both are hiding away from the world, and frankly if I had access to a secluded estate in Montecito, I would too. As they each have to face life after th ...more

I listened to the audio as I read along. I enjoyed that. This book was great because of the characters. Lucian and Emma were meant to be together. Lucian's family was great. I have no real interest in French pastries or baking so that part was too descriptive and boring for me. I loved the scenes in the ice rink. The angst towards the end was written well. I could feel how torn he was. I loved how Lucian got the clarity he needed. The hea was nice but it didn't melt my heart like a lot of this a
