This is a Warning with Spoilers, not a Review.

I read one TC bk and had no plans to read this. The ending was brought to my attn and since there are no reviews with any WARNINGS, I feel it is my duty to write this.

According to the blurb, this is classified as a "Standalone Young Adult Tearjerker Romance" by the author. Well, not by the RWA definition it is not. A "romance" by RWA definition has a HEA. Despite what some reviews will write, that ain't no HEA.

Amazing! The biggest surprise was that I never saw that ending coming -- and my heart burst. But it was Rune and Poppy who totally overwhelmed and inspired me with their memorable and unforgettable lessons of *****5-Cherry Blossom Stars*****

Amazing! The biggest surprise was that I never saw that ending coming -- and my heart burst. But it was Rune and Poppy who totally overwhelmed and inspired me with their memorable and unforgettable lessons of devotion, friendship, life, and love. To do justice to their story in a review is far beyond me, but here are some of my reactions and thoughts.

As a reader, you may spot a few similarities to other stories you’ve run across – but I’ve never found one done better than here with its beauty of unfettered magic. And some may not read YA or enjoy a tear-jerker that doesn’t walk the straight and narrow of contemporary romance, however, Poppy’s loving challenge to Rune works well for all of us: Always say yes, Rune. Always say yes to new adventures.

Poppy Litchfield and Rune Kristiansen (unusual names but perfectly suited to each) shared an epic love beginning at age five when they became friends and began their adventures. At fifteen, the grown up world intervened putting up a major roadblock between them and their adventures. At seventeen, their adventures faced the biggest challenge of all and their world fell apart. It is then that their soul mate status shined its brightest and their devotion to one another held fast and strong as their adventures never stopped.

Now I know some will disagree saying that can’t be. But jump on the magic carpet for an adventure you won’t regret, let your mind roam free, and open your heart to more than you can imagine. If you can, you’ll find a phenomenal journey awaiting you. At times your heart will soar and other times will break apart. You’ll laugh and cry. But most of all you’ll fall in love with Poppy and Rune, two kids with hearts of gold inseparable through infinity.

Read this book – don’t miss this extraordinary adventure in reading. Have a supply of Kleenex nearby because while Poppy got her 1,000 boy kisses, I shed a tear for each one she received (some happy/some not-so happy). Each was different, meaningfully given, and as special as special can be – just like this book by Tillie Cole.

wow such an amazingly well written book, one that will stay with me forever. A Thousand Boy Kisses will pull on your heartstrings and tear you a part. This book was between The Fault in the Stars and A Walk to Remember but so original. I loved the characters, especially Rune. My heart broke for him more than once, this character had me in tears. Once I started reading, there was no stopping, I had to see where Rune and Poppy's love story went. Even at a young age, their love was so true and deep ...more

Rune Kristiansen & Poppy Litchfield

I was not expecting to be in my feelings from the beginning of this story, but that is how it began. Poppy and Rune meet when they are kids, then she losses someone she loves. I love the way the author dealt with this situation. It was sad, but beautiful.

Years pass. Poppy & Rune go from being best friends to being in love. As inseparable as they were from the start this makes sense. Then Rune has to go away, and he turns into this boy that I don't really care ...more
