Four stars. Liked the story, loved Hunter, loved loved Em! The best MC book h ever!

What I would have liked to see but didn't : more Reapers
We got no update on Horse and Marie other than it's confirmed she started school.
We got no update on Ruger and family.
Explanation of how Hunter came to be in foster care to begin with.
More time with Em and Hunter as a couple.
More of Burke.

What I really didn't like:
Overall length of book was way short.

The third book in the Reapers MC series by Ms. Wylde is tied to the events of the second book, Reapers Legacy but from a different perspective. Liam “Hunter” Blake is a Devil’s Jack, and he’s on a mission - keep an eye on Em Hayes, the daughter of the Reapers MC Prez, Picnic Hayes. Then things go sideways - think less tragic Romeo and Juliet, with bikers.

The Good
Hunter is an enforcer for his club - yes, he’s the guy that goes in and starts the killin’ when it needs to be done. Liam “Hunter” Blake is a Devil’s Jack, and he’s on a mission - keep an eye on Em Hayes, the daughter of the Reapers MC Prez, Picnic Hayes. Then things go sideways - think less tragic Romeo and Juliet, with bikers.

The Good
Hunter is an enforcer for his club - yes, he’s the guy that goes in and starts the killin’ when it needs to be done. As a killer, he’ll never be your soft and cuddly hero - but it’s his absolute focus on Em, his desire to be with her and protect her, no matter the cost, that’s a real attraction for me here. He’s controlling and a bit of an alpha-hole, but he respects Em and he learns what love is from his feelings for her. Em, having grown up with her dad as President of a motorcycle club, isn’t your average, shy retiring virgin heroine. I liked that she was just as badass as Hunter.

These are two people who are deep into the life, and it’s the only one they’ve known. As such, they understand the way it works, and it was actually refreshing to see them “get” it and the main obstacle isn’t about the heroine du jour not belonging to the life and therefore, struggling against what they consider acceptable behavior. Their main obstacle, the one that powers the book and gave a fresh twist on the theme, was that they’re part of competing motorcycle clubs. Two clubs who have hated each other for over twenty years. The conflict isn’t glossed over for the sake of a HEA and there are consequences to their relationship, which I appreciated. Their chemistry is combustible and their sex scenes are crazy hot, filled with anticipation - you know, the kind that makes you lean in a little closer, maybe hold your breath, wondering when it’s gonna happen and if this is the kiss that leads to more. Also, it's kinda dirty and raw, which I enjoyed lol.

I thought Ms. Wylde really continued the overarching storyline that’s been building since book two, and brought in familiar characters that helped flesh out the story but I never felt as if Em and Hunter were getting the short end of the stick.

The Still Good, but…..
It’s a borderline standalone - it helps to read the earlier book, but I don’t think it’s a make or break situation.

I will give a warning to those who haven’t read any biker romances - this is gritty and raw, filled with alot of things that are pretty messed up (kidnapping, torture, murders, death threats, etc.) but I expect that in a biker book. Even with the HEA there’s a sense of danger that it’ll never be hearts and flowers, but that’s part of the appeal for me.

The Bottom Line
Ms. Wylde has really hit her stride with this series. This is my favorite to date and I absolutely loved Em and Liam together. ...more

I liked Em much better in the other books.

I know that I am very much in the minority here ....
But this was just kind of meh. Writing was good, characters eh.

Em is a spoiled & whiny and Hunter is kind of lame.

Maybe I have just read too many MC books and this one just didn't do much for me.

Oh man Joanna Wylde did it again! She wrote an amazing story. This story had me at prologue!! hehehe I loved the story between Liam/Hunter & Em. So glad she chose to write about them. This book has everything a story should have. A stubborn Man! A stubborn lady, love, sex and a little romance!! Must read!!

I am clicking 5 stars but it was more 41/2 for me. I loved Em and Hunter together, she is a great old lady. I wish the book was longer but that is my only complaint. I love this series and will continue to read it.

My favorite of the series. It is The Reapers MC vs the Devil Jacks MC in this installment. In the middle is Em, daughter of the president of the Reapers and Liam/Hunter a Devils Jack and their forbidden relationship.This book hooked me from the opening page, with a glimpse of Em in HS to Liam's stalking, to the kidnapping, to Em breaking free of her father and Painter, to Hunter staking his claim and trying to stay alive in the process, and to the final war with the cartel this book was exciting ...more

Devils Game is the third book in the Reapers MC series, and I totally need to read the previous books because this book includes a lot of characters and I am a back story monger so I really want to see what happened in the beginning with this crew of misfits. Wow, I loved it! Could not put the book down. Hunter is my newest book boyfriend. I loved how this book had a different tone to it. It fit with the characters. Em is in her early 20's and the way the story was written, it fit with her age. This is one of my favorite MC series out there right now. I just can't get enough of it.

Em is Picnic's daughter. Picnic is the President of the Reapers MC. The Reapers and the Devil's Jacks have had a long going feud between them.
