This is a spin off from the Reapers MC series this was a really good book and a good start to the Silver Valley series. This book had a hell of a prologue. I've read two other biker books, one of them being Reaper's Property. I've learned something very valuable too, bikers are hardcore. Like seriously hardcore. What I can't figure out is why I like them and yet don't read more? These books are definitely not for the faint of heart. Oh and feminists beware, bikers are not exactly about women running things. With that said, women actually are heard, respected, cared for, loved, even idolized, you just need to dig deep to understand and appreciate that world.

Silver Bastard is about Puck and Becca. Puck is fresh out of prison. Becca is...well she's just fresh. I'll leave it at that. Their meeting is definitely one for the record books and again NOT for the faint of heart. It's ugly and it will push your boundaries. Why I loved it I have no clue. Probably need to get that checked lol.

Five years later and Puck and Becca are living their own lives. Well he still protects her and she still fears him but she's trying to live a life different from her mother. Oh don't even get me started on that crazy woman. Becca's got the mother of all mothers. I wanted to strangle that woman. Mostly I wanted to kill her. Poor Becca is torn between the truth and the fact that this is her mom and she loves her. I really felt for Becca. I understood her issues and that want no need for acceptance and unconditional love.

Puck was hard for me to like. He's not cute. He's not nice. He's just I don't know...Puck. For whatever reason though he grows on you. I wouldn't want to live in his head. He's angry a lot lol. Lots of crazy emotions and I would have liked to know more about where he came from. We get a little glimpse but not really enough to understand why he is the way he is. Puck is a biker through and through whatever that means! He has little patience, he's stubborn, he's trustworthy, and he's not above breaking the law. There is nothing sweet or mushy about him. My brain screamed every single time he used the phrase "I claimed you" and it went against everything I am to be okay with the whole caveman I am man you woman and I own you crap.

In order to get past that and understand the story, you really have to let go and try to understand that lifestyle. You either get it or you don't. You either accept it or you don't. Not everyone lives like me or even you. What works for one may not for another. I get it. Once I let that go, I really got into the story itself. And there is a story here. In fact there are two stories running through this book. There's Puck and the Silver Bastards and their dealings and there's Becca dealing with her past that won't go away.

I absolutely adored Puck's chapters. His internal dialogue had me cracking up. For as scary and as bad ass as he is, not sure I'd want to know him in real life, he's actually just a normal guy at heart. Well sort of lol. As normal as one can get when even at your angriest you still want to have sex with the person you're fighting with. Yea he's one of my favorite characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I can't wait to go back and finish up the Reapers MC series. Oh OH the bonus in the back. We get a sneak peek at the next Silver Valley book and OH MY GOODNESS I'm totally hooked and I want it now!!

Four "You are my old-lady" stars

Another great book by this author. She sure does now how to write a sexy, brooding and very scary hero! This is every bit as gritty as the Reaper's books, which I love! The heroine - Becca - was great for the most part and there were some good 'Girl power' moments. However she did make some seriously bad decisions....like crazy decisions that had me shaking my head.

Good series start

3.75 rounded up to 4 stars....my reason I tend to like mature heroines, the h in this book delayed on realizing her feelings too long. Not saying she didn't get her act together admits a difficult start. Just...Felt like I got more drama than relationship in this book. The MC business was enough, I didn't feel it overwhelmed the book, just would have like more H/h together time. Excellent epilogue(s) ...more
