I have had this book on my to be read list for awhile so when a challenge where this book fit I took it. This book was not what I expected maybe it was because I listened to it on audio and although I liked the narrators voice the book was boring. Thanks to Z Squared I finally got around to reading this book for the June Match me up challenge. 4 ★★★★ promises.

Jared has lived his whole life in Coda and well as the only gay guy under 35 not a lot of chance to find that special someone. Jared has his little circle of friends which in most cases is his Mum, his brother and his sister in law Lizzy. Just because Jared is guy everyone thinks that he will hit on them.

4.5 HEART-WARMING STARS!

This was an sweet, addictive read/listen and I couldn't put it down.

I love a story where the MC's meet straight away This book was full of Jared and Matt's interactions, there wasn't any major angst, no long periods of separation and unnecessary drama. It was a simple love story between a gay man and a straight, (or is he?) new to town police officer.
The story just flowed perfectly, I loved it!

This is the M/M romance I've been looking for!!

Jared is openly gay. Although he has a loving and supportive family, he is somehwat shunned by his small community.
Matt is a tough, sexy cop, new to town and "straight". ;D wink wink Or so he thinks.

Promises is a sweet story of their blossoming friendship, their hardships and struggles against prejudice and eventually their need and love for one another.
