Although this book has been on my TBR shelf for years (years!), I've just now read it for the first time. Why have I been putting this series off for so long?! I really like Mac and Barrons and the cast of characters, the setting (what's not to like about Ireland?!) and the world of fae, vampires and the other hideous and dangerous creatures. Mac's character seems pretty realistic, as a pampered young adult suddenly in a dark world that was previously unknown to her. She's coming around, making ...more

The story telling of this book is brilliant. It totally sucked me in from the first page. This is a new to me author and a new to me genre. I could not put it down. On to book 2.
