Summary of my review: liked the plays & theatrical aspects, crazy/interesting moments, Oliver has character depth, loved the drama the whole time, too much Shakespeare mentioned (like half the book is just verses from his works), some weird/cringe moments and characters, no explanation to certain things (plot hole), Meredith was a useless character, the use of the words 'sexually amphibious', ending was predictable

I don't know what to say about this book; I can't articulate my thoughts or feelings.
It is very atmospheric, dark, gloomy, Shakespearian aesthetic, Fall in Scottland🍂🍁 vibes were immaculate.
With the Macbeth play, I felt like I was in high school again and remembered the plays and theatre; it was a walk down memory lane.

"Double double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble_
Scale of dragon, tooth of wolf,
Witches' mummy, maw and gulf..."

The characters were unique and interesting to read; as the story progressed, it was easy to notice who was talking and how they might react if something happened.
At first, Oliver, the narrator and MC portrays himself as a naive young boy who develops into the character he is by spending much of his life with his close friends in theatre and learning from the best. Ultimately, the last 30% of the book is so entertaining because of the character conflicts and the secrets that unravel, and the ending must be the book's best part. At times, James's melancholy nature rubs off on Oliver. The truth is that he tries to deny how he feels, but eventually, it catches up to him.
