For years, and when I say years it is actually more like decades, I have seen this classic book from time to time but I have never read it. It's not a very long book, but I just never took the time to try it out. One of my Goodreads groups is reading it this month, so I figured that now is as good a time as any to give it a go.

Siddhartha took many different paths to his spirtual awaking only to find what he was seeking in front of him within his own grasp. He started as a son of a Brahmin, moved to be a Samana, introducted to the Illustrious One, wondered into wordly gain with Kamala teaching him physical love and Kamaswami, the wealth merchant, teaching him money and greed. Lastly, the old feeryman wise beyond measure taught him how to listen to the river. The greatest gift of all.

What a great book to remind you of the simplest things and what really matters.
Siddhartha as a character is an arrogant, holier-than-thou piece of shit, but the insights from this book helped counteract my distaste for the protaganist.
