This book "All the light we cannot see" takes place in France during the early forties when it was being occupied by Germany.
We are taken through the war by a little blind girl's point of view. She describes her fear and struggles through the war.
On the other side in Germany there is a young man who is quite accomplished in radio manufacture and repair. He earns himself a high place in the German army. He also describes his struggle and horror at the things he is forced to do for the "War Effe

A great book. It is beautifully written, intricately plotted with wonderful characters. I understand why it won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction which it fully deserved.

This was not the typical type of book I would read, but it was well written. The subject of the book is serious and at times really sad. It makes you think about how the different people felt and that all of them were human during World War 2.
Overall, this was a good book, I am glad I choose to follow my club and read it.

The characters were somewhat interesting, but not interesting enough to read 530 pages' worth of them. It felt like the plot was moving as fast as a snail at times, to the point where it became an effort to pick it up and open it; and that's something I hate doing with books. I tried very hard to immerse myself with the characters and plot but with every grain of effort, I found the book less and less appealing. ...more
