I feel bad for giving it 1 star and yet when I go back to my notes well I've only been criticizing the book and nothing positive really came through. I really wanted to like this one given the reviews I read previously.
Plot summary : A young (18 years old girl) assassin is chosen by the prince Dorian to compete in the King's champion competition. She is trained by Chaol, close friend of the prince and captain of the guard. Story goes around the training session and tests.

I didn't expect this, but I loved this book so much. Actually it was the one who finally got me into fiction again since I haven't been able to read anything but fluffy contemporary for the last few months. I loved the main character, she's just such a badass and I love that, even more surprisingly I am enjoying the love traingle? That like has never happened before. Definitely 5 stars!

the beginning was confusing, there were a little bit of boring parts but this book is really good and the world building is so good! I got confused with it sometimes but I eventually knew what was what, who was who, etc.
This book exceeded my expectations by a mile. The world within this story has so much depth and detail and room to explore, and the characters are all so kick ass and AWESOME. I cannot wait to read more about Calaena... although when I read about her i feel ashamed about my own physique...
So many events in such a small book. You can see that Sarah J. Maas thought about every detail. Her 10-year work turned to be a great book. Awesome.
