Although I'm giving it 2 stars on Goodreads, I would bump it up if I could to 2.25 or 2.5. I listened to this on audio and I really liked the narrator, There was just quite a bit I didn't care for. The way it bounced around every couple pages (each chapter) made it more confusing that may have possibly been more due to listening to it than reading it. But although I enjoy relatively shorter chapters. I feel the chapters could have been slightly longer and condensed several days into them. I know

Although it's not usually my style, I was hoping for a real heart-warming, draw-me-in story like The Color Purple with this book. I didn't get it - I found it too disjointed, with too many characters, and too much jumping around. I never felt like I got much of a hold on the book, and didn't particularly care much about anyone in it, but lo and behold I found myself with tears absolutely streaming down my cheeks at the end.
