I started out really liking the story but Simon and Daphne grew sort of boring. I hated Simon saying he owned Daphne as a tool to get her to “obey” him. I hated Daphne’s attempt to get what she wanted from Simon. Honestly, the book tracks with the first season of the show for me. If the book had more side characters I would have liked it as much as the show because the side characters are what kept the show from feeling just as dull. I, like the rest of America, have spent my holiday week binging Bridgerton on Netflix. I mean have you see the actor that plays Simon? Of course, my whole family binged and talked about all the cute men. So then what else was a book lover to do at the end of the season besides buying all the books on her Kindle! Ooops.

The Duke and I differs from the show in that it exclusively focuses on Daphne and Simon. Which makes sense, as the 7 other books focus on the other Bridgerton siblings. While a wo
