listened to this as an audiobook. harry and evelyn’s friendship will stay with me forever. they really are the true definition of platonic soulmates. ❤️

I honestly have no words to describe how amazing this book was! It was phenomenal, beyond extraordinary! A masterpiece! This book is captivating and I couldn't put it down. I wanted to keep reading it.

I honestly have no words to describe how amazing this book was! It was phenomenal, beyond extraordinary! A masterpiece! This book is captivating and I couldn't put it down. I wanted to keep reading it.

This book delves into the old Hollywood era (from the 50s to the 80s), and explores the lives of actors during that time. The characters are intricate, complex, and the narrative is fascinating. However, the real gem of this book is the character development.

Evelyn, a unique, fascinating and iconic character, fearlessly grabs every opportunity to carve her path in life and get to where she wants. She's brilliant-a mastermind! Above all, she's dedicated to her loved ones, and she'll go anything for there no matter the consequences. Even if some of her actions are to be questioned, with no doubt, Evelyn is a woman to admire. She knows how to live life on her own terms and she's a good mother and wife.

Harry was my personal character in the book. I cried so hard at the end with his story. Life has been cruel to him, and he deserved so much better; a happy life and real love. But, he still experienced a good life, and he remained an exceptional husband and father and cherished his family deeply. His friendship with Evelyn is the essence of true friendships, and I can't help but question friendships nowadays.

Monique had a major growth and character development, going from being scare to stand up to Frankie, to a confident person who took character of her life. Now, she's ready to move on and start a new journey, becoming a renowned writer. Her growth is truly inspiring. Especially considering her decision with her own relationship.

Overall, the book connects with readers, through topics such as patriarchy, nationality, and the LGBTQ+ community, and their struggles. It sheds light of the ones who are considered outcasts, and explores the challenges they face. Most importantly, it gives insight and unveils the realities of celebrity lives, revealing how everything isn't as it seems or what the media writes or what people say. It's an empowering book, a testament to women!

"When you’re given an opportunity to change your life, be ready to do whatever it takes to make it happen. The world doesn’t give things, you take things."

There are man valuable lessons, the most important one is a reminder to stay true to yourself and don't lose sight of it, especially when you're faced with challenges. You shouldn't care about what others think as those who genuinely care about you, the ones close to you who surround you daily, know the authentic you. They know who you truly are!

Ainda estou tentando processar tudo o que li e tentar absorver o máximo possível dessa história, Taylor me fez rir, sofrer, ficar agoniada e chorar.
Evelyn Hugo é uma personagem que não foi construída para ser boa, muito menos para ser perfeita em muitas partes do livro tive vontade de socar a cara dela mas 5 minutos depois queria abraçá-la e dizer que ela era uma pessoa incrível e tudo ficaria bem. there’s not even enough words to describe how amazing and beautiful this book is. from the moment i read the first page i was hooked. just the storyline itself is one of the best i’ve read but the love, the hurt, the bad and the good was just beautifully executed in every page ! the one plot twist i wasn’t expecting was the icing on the cake for me, it honestly left me with a feeling i can’t get rid of. i will read this book over and over to relive everything i felt.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK I WOULD MARRY IT IF I COULD!!! i waited so long to read it and i’m so angry that i did that bc i was seriously missing out on one of the best books ever known to the world. evelyn hugo’s story is one to be classified as sad, beautiful, tragic, as miss taylor swift would say.
