| 5 stars | CAWPILE 9.7 | Ages 14+ | Holy CRAP this book was fantastic. I haven’t finished a book this fast since May and I enjoyed every single wild second of it. It’s officially been 11 days since I finished it and I still want to reread it so badly. I’ve had a lot of time to stew on my feelings, so I hope that I can express them in a way that’s worthy of this masterpiece.

this book was an homage to classic rom-com films, taylor swift songs, childhood friends to lovers, actually good and interesting YA characters, and fit THESE specific Arcade Fire lyrics:

3.5 stars. i really enjoyed this, but i didn’t understand why wes and liz were enemies. enemies to lovers is my favorite trope of all time and in order for me to believe that the characters are enemies i have to understand why. wes was clearly a sweet guy. also, liz REALLY annoyed me in the third-act conflict. i’m disappointed that this wasn’t a 5 star read like i’d hoped, but i will definitely give lynn painter another try!

idk for sure because I started this in a slump and I always like those books less...

I did really like this though! I wanted a bit more of Lizwes, but the moments we did get were really cute.
I also think the subplots were well developed and really contributed to the story and character development of Liz.
