This was my first buddy read ever (with my best friend @Maddie) and it was SO FUN! Not even going to lie, I really kinda hated this book when I read it two years ago. I didn't even move onto the rest of the series. It was my first book by Stephanie Garber and I despised how flat and confusing the book was. BUT BOY WAS IT NOT FLAT THIS TIME AROUND. I enjoyed so much. My first book of Stephanie Garber and It was a great start.
The story is a whiplash of emotions, multiple twists is a short spam of time. You have to pay a lot of attention, if not you are dead.
The world of Caraval is amazing. Scarlet was so great (a few times I fell so bad for her) and Julian was so cute.

Well, I enjoyed this book (just the first one 🙈) because it has their tricks and this “game” about searching for the gold is really good, most of it because you don’t know who is by your side and the traitor. Also, I really liked the couple and since they met I knew they would end up together (well not so sure 'cause of the sister but anyway) This new adventure and the island with their unusual rooms, loved it. dumb main character with a magical storyline
3.5 stars!! I love this world and the game building of caraval! totally obsessed with Scarlett and Julian but I am not a big fan of the ending of the book- excited to see where the next book takes the story
