Shelves: favorites, fantasy-romance

The breadth of imagery drew me in from the first chapter. The references to fairy tales from old made the story rich and textured. The foreshadowing was exceptional and kept the suspense high. It was pure gold indulgence. Characters were interesting and real and their dynamics were thrilling and enjoyable! Best fantasy I’ve read this year!

I was obsessed with the worldbuilding in this. It was magnificent. It drew me in immediately. The beginning of the book was fascinating, but toward the middle of it, I found myself starting to grow more and more bored. I forced myself to keep reading and I'm glad that I did, because the twist at the end really got me. I wasn't expecting it at all, which made it all the more pleasing. It has been TOO long since l've read a YA Fantasy book that actually has everything I'm looking for. This has just the right amount of action, drama, suspense and of course a little sprinkle of romance.

I buddy read this book with the amazing @lightltup and I loved it so much!

Within the first chapter the story jumps into action and transported me into the world of Faerie.
