4.5 ⭐️ This book gave off STRONGG rom com movie vibes and I was so here for it. This was a lot more YA than I thought it’d be but it was so good nevertheless and I adored the pop culture references <3 and come on there was literally a blond Lorelei Gilmore as a step mum.

(2,5 ⭐️) Why does everyone like this book… for God's sake what an unbearable protagonist. From the first chapter, I could see that this girl imitates the personality of her dead mother (I'm not exaggerating because when she realizes this, she was super shocked and I just thought “girl, wasn't that obvious”???) I swear… if she did a therapy 50% of this book would not exist. In every scene of “oh because I'm different from other girls, they don't wear frilly dresses or watch old movies, I hate bei ...more

This book is really cute, and have a lot of references to all the classic rom-coms. But this book really made me realize I’m getting to old for YA romance 😅

The absolute truth that I cried at climax in the middle of a day squares up to the fact that I definitely am spooning over this utterly marvellous masterpiece ×.×

“I fell in love with teasing you in the second grade, when I first discovered that I could turn your cheeks pink with just a word. Then I fell in love with you.”

the book was— in fact— better than the movies. it made me miss the highschool i'm still having, the boy next door neighbour i would never have, and the romcom references i would never get. wesley bennett is my new book boyfriend and i would do anything for him (even giving up The Forever Spot if i have to) x ♡

Wow. I know it's only January but I can tell that this will be in my top 12 books of 2023. It was so so good. Wes has my entire heart. I absolutely loved everything about this book. I laughed, I cried, literally all the emotions. I can't wait for the second one because I need so much more of Wes and Liz. I hope Michael and Laney end up happy too. Ugh. I loved this so much. ...more

“ENEMIES TO LOVERS- IT’S OUR TROPE, BUXBAUM”

High school love is not a usual read for me but this story really won me over in the end. For a pretty new book, there were A LOT of movie references from my generation. So if you’re in your 30s and love chick flicks like Bridgette Jone’s Diary, 10 Things I Hate About You, When Harry Met Sally, You’ve Got Mail, etc. you’ll enjoy the references sprinkled all over these pages.

Tropes: Enemies to Lovers, Fake Dating, HEA

these two [2] stars are for my boy wes bennett!!! he deserved something better than this stupid chick and i’m not even joking. she fucked everything up with everyone in her life but suddenly it’s all ok because she said she was sorry, right? fuck her. i just wouldn’t stop reading because i loved all the side characters. jocelyn deserved a better friend. wtf wtf wtf

no because it’s actually illegal for wes bennett to not exist. why did this book actually made me cry? i was crying when they admitted they loved each other 🥹

i also couldn’t help but notice that this book gave me the vibe of “she’s all that” and i loved it! however, i reached a point during the book that liz was annoying me with the lying and trying to make everything “rom-com” worthy 🧍🏻‍♀️but the realization to live her OWN life made me like her better.

don’t even get me start
