What Members Thought
This was just.... A weird read. Maybe I missed the point, but it seemed a bit disjointed and the characters felt very 2 dimensional... Flat. I've read some of Mosley's earlier mystery books and have always found him to write well. I can see glimpses here, but it wasn't enough to save it in my opinion. Weird is how I will describe the experience. 8)

I really, really wanted to quit this book. If I was a teen who wanted to think "deep thoughts" I'm sure I would have enjoyed it, but I've read too many essays and books that do a much better job of addressing the issues that Mosley appears to be trying to address.
This was a short book that tried to wrestle with inner rage, race tensions, white privilege, the existence of God, or lack, or God as technology. And a host of other things. And it mixes in a bit of noise about relationships also.
