3 stars. Cool concept but I was not invested in the characters at all. They felt so generic and basic YA character like. The writing was fine, the pacing was smooth, and again the plot and setting were really interesting. If only Lira and Elian had been more developed this would’ve gotten a higher rating as it is a fun read. Their romance is fine though and I liked the way it developed. For what it is, this was a pretty cool book and I think it would be great for someone just getting into YA fan

My expectations for this book were super high and the book just didn't quite get there. Full rtc.

I warmed up to this book. At first I wasn't feeling any particular connection to any of the characters or the plot but the story did really pick up at about a third of the way through. I really started to love both characters and felt a stronger connection to them. Plus, the plot picked up considerable and it became much more fast pace.
