This book follows Emma Woodhouse and the people around her in Highbury. We watch how Emma grows as a very opinionated woman into a more mature one in terms of her views of how a woman should live her life, love and marriage and how good intentions can often be motivated by selfish interests and can be destructive both for the giver and the receiver.
