I was a bit disappointed but I am being kind and rounding up to 3. Really 2.75 stars.
Originally I felt unable to finish this book, but the last third was a lot darker and helped balance things out, when I did relent and go back to finish it.
Fayre (Beauty) was intensely irritating: like an obstinate teenager determined to do the complete opposite of what she is asked.
Tamlin ( the beast) is not a beast. Didn't anyone else notice?
How did it get 3 stars then? Well I enjoyed the world building withi ...more

I went into reading this apprehensively with the notion that I might not enjoy it or I maybe even hate it due to some of the reviews I have seen or heard. However, I was pleasantly surprised and glad I gave it a shot because I loved it! I found myself reading it all within the span of about a day and a half reading between classes and on my commute. Some said that it was too slow, but I felt the pacing was just right and nothing important was rushed giving enough time to truly develop the charac

If writing was more like taking scenes from your favorite films and movies and just tweaking the character names.
I'll give her credit where credit is due... she's okay at writing enough to keep me interested in the book. But the amount of scenes where I was just like "This is literally just ___ scene but tweaked" (for example, she literally took a scene straight from the movie of howl's moving castle for the introduction of Rhysand) was far too many for my personal enjoyment.

This was enjoyable enough and I should have loved it, but I thought it was just ok. Feyre is strong, fierce, independent, and willing to fight for herself and those she loves. I found her a bit whiny at times and it detracted from the story for me. This was interesting as in it had a Beauty and the Beast meets the Hunger Games feel. Not sure about the ending and her deal with Rhys.
