bruh this is one of the best books I’ve ever read I think there’s crack laced through this or something bc wtf!!!

it was written so well and even though I expected some of the plot twists, they were still so good??!!! it was such a fun read & it was so fun to guess what would happen next or to solve the mysteries in my head like I love when I’m right about these things lol ❤️‍🩹 it’s so validating :')

I can't stop smiling, someone please pinch my cheeks or stretch them to make me stop!
I loved reading this book so much, it made me so happy. I had high expectations after seeing the 4-star ratings and damn it did live up to the mark.

The story basically revolves around a teenage girl, Pippa Fitz-Amobi, who chooses a five-year-old murder case that took place in her small town, for her final year project. The case that was closed years ago concluded that Sal Singh murdered Andie Bell, a schoolgirl ...more

this book was.. an experience. i loved how fast paced it was, and how you could think something about a person, and the something would come in and completely change your perspective. like, i had a feeling who was responsible for the murder, but then i thought they were innocent, until later. i love pip and LOVE ravi. however i wasn’t very attached to the book or anything, probably bc of how fast paced it was. it didn’t completely live up to my expectations, and i wish we kinda got more ...more

Okay, I'm writing this directly after I finished the book, and what the heck just freaking happened!! *there will inevitably be spoilers in this, so click off now if you're planning on reading it and haven't yet* OKAY! So, the book starts off with our main character Pip, a senior in the town of Fariview. Five years ago, Salil Singh (allegedly) murdered his girlfriend, Andie Bell, and committed suicide days later. However, Sal was always very kind, and Pip is not certain he did commit the crime. Okay, I'm writing this directly after I finished the book, and what the heck just freaking happened!! *there will inevitably be spoilers in this, so click off now if you're planning on reading it and haven't yet* OKAY! So, the book starts off with our main character Pip, a senior in the town of Fariview. Five years ago, Salil Singh (allegedly) murdered his girlfriend, Andie Bell, and committed suicide days later. However, Sal was always very kind, and Pip is not certain he did commit the crime. So, for her senior capstone project, she decides to solve the murder with the help of Ravi Singh, Sal's younger brother, who's been searching for answers for a while, and believes Pip might finally be his ticket to finding out what truly happened that night.
Writing style-
The writing style in this was really cool, especially in the beginning. Essentially, there would be a short chapter with an accompaniment of one of Pip's capstone project entries. I thought this was really cool because it kept me engaged for a long time at the beginning of the book, where I'd normally get bored, especially reading a mystery novel where they have to explain so many things before the plot actually starts. However, this wasn't the case with this book, and I was engaged with it the entire time reading it. As the book went on, the chapters got longer and there were few to no entries, but the plot made up for it. The plot was very fast-paced, something I adored, because there was always something happening. The chapters would skip ahead on the timeline a bit, making it so there was no downtime between things happening. There were so many twists and turns to this, I changed my guess as to who the murderer was plenty of times, and still wasn't right. I really had no issues with the plot or the writing style, although I would have liked to see Ravi and Pip together more, considering how the close they've grown in the 'two months later' section.
Characters-
Okay, so Pip? Loved her. Only time she annoyed me was when she TOOK THE FREAKING DRINK FROM THE SUSPECTED MURDERER AND ENDED UP GETTING DRUGGED. But other than night, she was definitely on the better side of main characters. She was very clever, and still had some good development- the author also did a good job giving her flaws. Ravi: Ravi was pretty good, not incredibly amazing, but we don't see very much of him, so that's alright. He was really sweet and absolutely adorable with Pip, and I actually really liked his character, even though I didn't exactly like him in the beginning. As the book went on, I actually really liked him though, so I'll give him a 4/5. As for Becca, the surprise murderer: Becca was the ultimate plot twist. If you suspected it to be her, I'm genuinely impressed- I didn't even realize what Pip was thinking until she actually confronted Becca. Becca was a great actress, and a good villain for the story- the book did a great job keeping it a secret. And finally, Max- I truly don't have that much to say about him, other than the fact that I'm surprised he wasn't arrested before Pip got on the case, considering all the terrible things he did at those parties.
And finally, my final thoughts: What an insane book. Really, really enjoyable, as long as you don't let the swearing and such to get to your head. But overall, one of the best mysteries I've read, and I'm looking forward to the sequel.

this was so good omgg i cannot believe i tried to put it off. like my heart is pounding and i had to get up from my laptop and pace around my house because i was going to scream. i had to cover the rest of the page with a hand so i wouldn't spoil it for myself. while i kinda little bit knew that the person who killed her did kill her, i was tripped up by the sheer amount of people and suspects and clues there were. ravi and pip are so cute tg and i need something like that. the murder board was ...more

This was very very well written. I always love mysteries, but this one was something to behold. I loved everything about Pip, I feel like she was the ultimate perfect nerdy determined detective protagonist. And Ravi was just plain ravishing, as well lol. There were so many good plot twists and I just love how everything turned out. This was some very entertaining stuff, thank you author.

This book was beautifully written. The book is about pip a girl in highschool she has a capstone project. She does her project on an old friend of hers, Sal Sighn, who was wrongly accused of a murder. Pip and Sals’ brother interview many people and find clues. At the end she finds the ones who were involved and the Sighns’ family can finally go out and be around people without getting treated differently and Sal Sighn is finally proven innocent, even after his death, sadly.
