A creepy read that I found hard to put down. The book is narrated by Abe, a widower who takes up fishing to cope with his grief. And boy does he have a fishing story to tell!
The story within a story format didn’t quite work for me but still an engaging read.

Lovecraftian literary horror novel set in a remote part of the Catskills in New York. This is told as a story within a story, as the main characters get the background info about Dutchman's Creek from the owner of the local diner. It has a creepy foreboding atmosphere as the background story is being told about the strange past events associated with the creek. It's as good as anything written by Lovecraft.
