Meh. It had some good insights, but I can't help but compare it to Sapiens which I loved. I just feel like there was a lot thrown into this, it's messy, well researched but also kind of repetitive. All in all extremely thought-provoking for sure. ...more

Very good collection of the knowledge of our history, and a startling (somewhat dystopic) future prediction, a must read.

This follow up did not affect me the same way the Sapiens did, probably because it seemed to me that Harari was rehashing the same points he made in the earlier book. Nevertheless, as it usually is with Harari, no matter how cursorily one's reading is, there's always a turn of phrase - or a paragraph - that is very effective at making one pause and wonder what the hell it is that we have gotten ourselves into. ...more
