This was a library book club pick but unfortunately I didn't finish in time to go. I can see why it was chosen, there is a lot for discussion. The main characters each have their own dark back stories that brought them on this collision course. The two women really grow and learn from each other and support each other. Read for P.E.O. Iowa Chapter LQ book Club 2024, following Book Girls Guide to read around the world. This is a gem of a book. Characters were interesting and it was fun to read as personalities changed and developed. A friend had recommended this book to me. Not sure it would have made it onto my radar but so totally enjoyable. Wish I’d have read it earlier as it would have been a fun book to read to my mother. She’d have loved it.
I really liked how this book mixed action with quieter moments. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is there was one character i felt could have been totally left out, and the book would actually have been better, and without the weird exploration of mental illness/PTSD that was... stereotypical?
