There are no words to express how much I enjoyed this.

This was such a fun, interesting and quirky read! It gave me major Princess Diaries vibes with a Japanese twist, and it was so interesting to get an insight into the fascinating Japanese culture. ALSO, I NEED TO TRY DORAYAKI. LIKE RIGHT NOW. LIKE, GIMME.

For all her life, Izumi has lived in a predominantly-white town as a Japanese American. So, when she finds out her father is the crown prince of Japan, she leaps at the opportunity to meet him and find herself. However, being a princess in a country she’s not familiar with comes with its own challenges.

This was so cute! I fell in love with Izumi and her journey, and I loved the romance on the side. Anyone looking for a new contemporary should read this!

the romance was a bit too unrealistic for me, but I thought that the family relationships with her dad was super sweet and nice

anyways, finally read our june both like 6 days before the month ends

the ending was just AGH I need to read the second book right away :)

who can say no to an asian princess diaries retelling

also izumi's friends are literally the best, like freaking hilarious

(I died at the part when she accidentally said she wanted to eat lots of boobs...)

I really loved read

⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

This was okay. The ending was really cute and I enjoyed reading about the culture and royalty, but that’s about all. The audiobook narrator was also okay. I had really high hopes for this one, but in the end I think I’m just too old for it.
