Read this book as part of the UGA Alumni Association Book Club and am looking forward to the discussion on Thursday. Being from Atlanta, I really enjoyed the Atlanta references. The story is a good one. Having read Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson, the familiar story of the totally innocent man going unjustly to jail. His life and his wife's are changed forever. I’m glad I had the chance to read this book after the hype and buzz had subsided. There are many valuable lessons in this story relating to: the complexity of decisions in life, conflict that rises in the event of abandoned commitment, fear of oblivion, and marriage’s place in love (and vice versa). My greatest qualm with the work is that, while characters were thoroughly developed, they weren’t developed in a way that caused me to become connected and attached to any one character. I’m not sure
