What Members Thought
This is one of the best alternate history novels I've read. It deals with silenced voices of the past, in particular the voices of women. It's also a feminist quest story - something that resonated deeply with me. In this story, Jesus has a wife, and her name is Ana. She has a brilliant mind and longing to have her voice heard and remembered. Ana narrates her own story, and it's a powerful and richly imagined one.

This book won me over and my whole book group enjoyed it! It's fascinating historical fiction, set in the first century and focused on the lives of women in Egypt and what is now Israel. Read my full review and listen to a sample of the audio:
