A 5-star read (more like 10) of commendable courage and romance. I was so thrilled to be able to read this new novel by S.R. I fell in love with his Florentine series, which sadly has been cut short in my country, and I really enjoyed Gabriel's trilogy, yet this new novel surpasses those beauties.

Art, mystery and Paris coincide to create an atmosphere as pleasurable as a fine wine. The dialogues shine with intelligence. I felt really drawn to this man and this woman from the clash of their first encounter through their tumultuous, yet sophisticated relationship riddled with so many secrets and grief. As every piece of the double puzzles they are come painstakingly to light, they grow to admire and respect each other. I love that kind of building dynamics. I loved their interactions. Danger surrounds them yet you can feel that intense web of complex attraction that ensnares them.

Luxury, scenic places, stolen art and exotic dangers abound in this romantic suspense where Paris stands out as much as the poignant and emotional lovemaking.

Magnificent read! I'm still in awe of all the layers that were unwrapped since this couple's fated meet at a hotel till their final battle against evil men, injustice and the destruction of their own humanity. Nothing was as it seemed and surprises kept piling up, mixing genres and emotional turmoil in superb ways.

I fell in love with the beautiful relationship that bases love on a deep understanding of who they each are and how they support and heal each other. And I also admired the moral strength of Acacia, a woman of relentless will and pure heart. She's the true heart of the story. Light in times of darkness, and a bravery that's born of a good and compassionate spirit. She's the key to healing a man who favours black suits and has a noble but troubled soul. They are amazing together. At the beginning, his name didn't ring true to me, but then all became clear. And what a rollercoaster ever since.

The author has envisioned a tale of courage, forgiveness, and unquenchable love. Chapeau!

I've just finished this book and I think is one of the best from Sylvain Reynard!!!
The art is a main point in this book and to see same of the places these characters go from Sylvain's eyes is amazing.
These two are my new best friends! Acacia is one strong, independent and intelligent Brazilian woman (we all are here in Brazil =)) and Nicholas is just the right guy for her.

Wow

Another fantastic book by Sylvain. The story is well told. And like all other books by this author, there is a lot of history and research involved in this book. Jewish and Muslim history, art history, Russian and French history. This takes time and a lot of effort to be able to tie it into a single story.

If you appreciate a good book like this with a touch of romance and suspense, this is the book for you. Can't wait to read more new books by this author. Never dissapoints. ...more
