This is not my kind of book at all. I do love literary fiction. And I love a good deep character exploration of trauma and growing up with strange parents. However this is not it. This book is just gross. It goes on too long.
I never got the feeling that there was any point to it. Maybe if Eden had been a reporter or a cop. Or if there had been any consequences at all of their lifestyle. It was hinted at in a few points but nothing ever came of it.
What was even the point of this?

the lamb is such a weird, bittersweet, and gross book yet lucy rose beautifully captured internalized sexism and child abuse trauma passed down from generation to generation in such a visceral way. i only consumed this on audio and i loved it. the narrator did an incredible job performing each character and really nailing the emotional parts as well as the tension. also good for her.
