Very good book. Loved it. Hope Feyre and Tamlin will be happy now that they stopped Amarantha. Will the High King go to war with the humans? What will happen next?

Feyre made a promise on her mother’s death bed to look after her sisters and it’s what she’s done ever since her father hasn’t been able to. Forced to hunt in the dangerous woods Feyre is thankful to find a deer that will feed her family but she’s not the only one hunting. A massive wolf also hunts the deer planning to make a meal of it attacks but she’s kills the wolf using her only ash wood arrow on the wolf. Feyre suspect that the wolf was one of the feared fairies. Unable to bring the wolf b Feyre made a promise on her mother’s death bed to look after her sisters and it’s what she’s done ever since her father hasn’t been able to. Unable to bring the wolf back with her Feyre skins the wolf bringing with her it’s pelt and the deer that will feed her family. While sitting at home with her family that the door explodes open revealing a massive wolf who wants her to come to fairy or he will slay her family in revenge for his fallen friend.

To save her family Feyre leaves her only home traveling to a world that hates her kind the land of Prythian which is to be her new home. Upon arriving at Tamlin’s home she finds it not to be as expected the lord of the lands isn’t unkind he’s actually very nice and care about his people. The more time Feyre spends with Tamlin the more she finds herself falling for him even if she doesn’t know what his face looks like and he shifts into a mighty wolf. However things aren’t easy blight has spread across the lands treating the fairies. Fearing her safety Tamlin sends Feyre back to her family in the human world. Yet Feyre isn’t happy in the human world and misses Tamlin knowing it could be her death she sets out to be with him. What she finds will cause her to risk everything and change her life forever.

I love Feyre she’s a great character taking care of her sisters even though they aren’t willing to get dirty. Feyre is only 19 but she’s had to endure so much it’s made her tough, but she still has her soft side the love of painting. I like the relationship between Feyre and Tamlin is grew out of kindness and friendship into a love that changed everyone’s future. Tamlin is the fairy lord who’s cursed by this evil fairy queen that if he can’t find just the right human girl they are doomed forever. However his love for her sends her away but her love for him brings her back. I enjoy a book when the characters fight for love willing to risk and do things that they have to survive to protect those they love. We also had Rhysands the Night Lord but I’ll just say this tough choice could be in Feyre’s future.

I’ve had this one on my TBR Forever with the hints of being about Beauty and the Beast I knew it was a must read. As I started reading I noticed it’s not really a traditional Beauty and the Beast story but actually an East of the Sun west of the Moon fairy tale story. I was so hooked to the story especially since it was reminiscent of my favorite fairytale, it was hard to put down as a retelling it’s beautifully executed. I admit the concept for the retelling may not be new but the author had done a brilliant job creating a captivating new story. I really enjoyed the authors writing style it flows along from start to finish and it’s well written hard to put down. The characters are well developed, I was able to connect with Feyre cheering her on as she took on the tasks, and I loved the characters. I honestly didn’t know what to expect since this is my first book by the author and I loved it. I loved everything about the A Court of Thorns and Roses. It’s an amazing story that captured my heart as well as my imagination. I can’t wait for the next one it’s going on my auto by list. Don’t you just love that cover stunning!!! Why did I take so long to read this!!? It was so amazing. I loved every minute of it. I loved the characters, the world, everything!! The only thing I regret is that I didn’t read this book sooner.

I've previously read and deeply loved Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass series, so I was very excited to get my hands on her new fantasy series. When I heard that it would be a series of fairy tale retellings, with ACOTAR being the Beauty and the Best retelling (and I'm all in for fairytale retellings), I set all books aside and started reading her incredible book. I was afraid that ACOTAR would be very similar to Throne of Glass in some aspects such as the characters, but that was definitely not I've previously read and deeply loved Sarah J. Maas's Throne of Glass series, so I was very excited to get my hands on her new fantasy series. When I heard that it would be a series of fairy tale retellings, with ACOTAR being the Beauty and the Best retelling (and I'm all in for fairytale retellings), I set all books aside and started reading her incredible book. I was afraid that ACOTAR would be very similar to Throne of Glass in some aspects such as the characters, but that was definitely not the case.

I found ACOTAR much more romance based instead of action and plot. It started off with a very intriguing beginning, began to be a bit lacking of plot towards the middle, although it regained itself towards the end. When Feyre kills a wolf in the forest, Tamlin, a High Fae, demands retribution and takes her to Prythian, the fae lands where she learns about the terrible curse of the lands.

Sarah J. Maas's writing is phenomenal, as always. Intricate but not too much, I've always been captivated with her writing style and the way she is able to weave her characters in a mystical yet incredible world. The one thing I found really unique about the book is the world building and Prythian along with the seven courts.

“My priority would be to protect my family -- and I would have picked whatever side could keep them safest. I hadn't thought of it as a weakness until now.”

Feyre, who I was afraid would end up being a lot like Celaena in many ways, was not a replica of Celaena. Although they are both hunters with a strong heart that knows no fear, Celaena values that her people be free instead of Dorian and Chaol, whereas I found that Feyre valued Tamlin a lot more along with her family, which is why I found this book to have more romance than action. The middle portion of the novel was used to develop the relationship of Feyre and Tamlin, and because of that, I felt the mystery of what was Tamlin's purpose of bringing her to Prythian (if she was to live a life of luxury), along with plot die down a bit. However, I did enjoy seeing the relationship blossom between them during the time because it was SO. STEAMY. AND. HOT. I had a huge grin on my face and I'll admit to blushing while reading the Tamlin x Feyre moments.

“He brought his lips to my ear. "I would have been gentle with you, though." I shuddered as I closed my eyes. Every inch of my body went taut as his words echoed through me. "I would have had you moaning my name throughout it all. And I would have taken a very, very long time, Feyre.”

HOLY SHIT THE HOTNESS :O But wait, although there's Tamlin, there's Rhysand which I have yet to talk about!

Near the end of the book was when I got very hyped up because that is when Feyre learns of the terrible curse and a lot more happens, where Feyre is to show her abilities and what she is worth. It was all up to Feyre to save Prythian of the curse along with Tamlin and I was beginning to wonder if Feyre had something special and when we'd see if she was intelligent as she was good at hunting. She did, of course, but not without the help of Rhysand, the Lord of the Night Court, which resulted in a suspected love triangle.

Usually, I'd be super frustrated about another guy popping in at the end of the novel, but I actually found myself to admire Rhysand. He's charming cares about Feyre in a way that I still do not understand why. In the end, I felt that Rhysand was a lot more than Tamlin. Every time Rhysand appeared, Tamlin in comparison felt a little bland. SO YES, I HAVE SWITCHED TO TEAM RHYSAND.

“When you healed my arm...You didn't need to bargain with me. You could have demanded every single week of the year." My brows knit together as he turned, already half-consumed by the dark. "Every single week, and I would have said yes." It wasn't entirely a question, but I needed the answer.

A half smile appeared on his sensuous lips. "I know," he said, and vanished.”

The ending left me hanging because I felt that there would be something going on with Feyre and Rhysand in the next book, which is a retelling of Persephone and Hades. And Persephone and Hades were lovers. :O I'm dying to find out how it will turn out! Once again, Sarah J. Maas has left me dazzled with a phenomenal setting, steamy romance and hot High Faes (with more that I look forward to meeting).

I'm always a huge fan of fantasy, but I never encountered a NEW ADULT FANTASY! It's always going to be either in the YA or Adult category, so I was very surprised when this book gave both NA and Fantasy! of course, Sarah J. Maas is a QUEEN!

I loved everything about it!! Especially the plot twists!!!! I LOVED IT!! I'M SO SPEECHLESS!

I can't wait for the second book to come out! ...more
