This book was sooo good! I loved this story, it was extremely cute. I mean Étienne St. Clair. That guy. Jesus. I now understand what all the fuss was about..
I loved Anna, her liking for movies was great too!
All the characters were great in their own way, and I loved the friendships Anna created.
And Paris!! Stephanie Perkins gives us a brilliant description of the city, I went there once, and as I read I just could ...more

I was reluctant to read this book in the beginning. I thought it was going to be another one of those teen contemporary romances that left you feeling gooey and frustrated because it never seems to happen in real life. I held off for a really long time, until I succumbed and got it from my librarian. I got it free, and for some reason, that sweetened the deal for me.

All my reluctance to read the book aside, I actually liked it, which is saying something, because I generally do not like YA Reali I was reluctant to read this book in the beginning. I thought it was going to be another one of those teen contemporary romances that left you feeling gooey and frustrated because it never seems to happen in real life. I held off for a really long time, until I succumbed and got it from my librarian. I got it free, and for some reason, that sweetened the deal for me.

All my reluctance to read the book aside, I actually liked it, which is saying something, because I generally do not like YA Realistic-Fictions. (FANTASY!) But the opening narrative was very teenager. It was all very teenage monologue type, as if Perkins was practically begging us teens to keep reading (which I did because I hate leaving a book unread.) As much as that annoyed me in the first ten pages, I kept reading.

Quickly, the story became one that I liked, despite the fact that the story seemed like one that I had read a million times. New girl. Isolated girl. Quirky girl. Boy everyone likes. She doesn’t stand a chance.

But what really drew me in was the fact that Anna (the main protagonist) and St. Clair (the love interest, or sometimes known as Etienne) weren’t total conventional beauties. They weren’t total stereotypes, but rather they had unique characteristics that made them more relatable-and God forbid in a YA Contemporary-more human. Anna had a gap in her teeth, a blonde streak, and absolutely horrible bedhead. St. Clair was short, which I honestly found refreshing, because almost never is a YA hero described as short (Because, surprise: Boys in real life are short, too.). He was also a huge history nerd. It seemed like they could almost exist in my high school.

I also enjoyed that the supporting characters were real, and there were enough that I wasn’t drowning in Anna and St. Clair teen romance. They were well-developed, and they were neither bad nor good-each with their own demons and angels. Too often there are supporting characters who are complete angels or total devils. I found that most supporting characters were neither wholly good nor wholly bad.

Anna and the French Kiss surprised me. It was a good book. One that dealt with more pressing issues than just teen romance. I definitely recommend this to anyone who needs to chill and not be left with so much angst. I give it 3.7 stars.

While I will eventually get to the next book, it will have to take me a while, as Anna is the first book in a series that moves onto the next protagonist. ...more

I really loved this book but I never felt completely attached to the characters ettiene was swoon worthy but not as much as he could be it was fairly predictable I loved all the sights Anna saw in France but I didint think Anna was all that special I don't like the way Anna ran away from her problems and how easily influenced she was like when she got drunk and wore a short skirt for no reason it was very entertaining and I related with the characters but I didint feel exactly what they felt but ...more

ASDFDKSFSDFJSDFKSDFJSDKF voy a leer los otros libros. Recomiendo totalmente el libro, no puedo creer que lo haya leído en un día... es todo un logro, y más con un libro contemporáneo

Agosto 2017 -> nope, no lo recomiendo. Sigan con sus vidas y lean algo mejor.

This book was just sugary sweet. It was exactly like one of those teen rom-com movies but in a good way. I quite enjoyed reading this. The characters were great, and I was rooting for everything to work out for them the whole way through. Definitely gonna pick up the next two books by Ms. Perkins.
