This is actually the view from my piece of land in the Texas Hill Country. One day, when my house is built, this is what I'll see, mornings, when I sit out on my porch. I share Abby's friend Kate's love of this part of Texas. In celebration of the novel's debut, my lovely friend, critique partner, and NYT bestselling author, Joni Rodgers, and her husband, Gary, bottled a delicious pinot gris. Joni designed the gorgeous label. It is an unexpected gift, one I'll always treasure. A photo of me popping the champagne cork on the evening I announced to my critique partners that I had signed with MIRA to publish EVIDENCE OF LIFE. It still gives me goosebumps!
