What is most important to dreampunk as a genre?
The presence of dreams, simulations, or false realities.
A particular feel all its own, like fairy tales recast in the neon light of a carnival.
An implication that ultimate reality is unknown and perhaps unknowable.
A grounding in sci-fi tropes, like cyberpunk but with a focus on dreams more than simulations.
A blending of steampunk with traditional fantasy.
A respect for nature and shamanic practices.
A tension between nature and the modern world.
A affinity with some form of punk subculture.
