Books Similar to Breaking Bad, Scandal, and Other Popular TV Shows

1) While only two shows are in the group name, you can discuss any show and book coupling that is said to be popular or hot right now. While the books and authors can be obscure, indie, or self-published, the shows should be more well known.
2) NO shows based on books. The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Under the Dome: all of those are out.
3)The show must be current, as in either still on or having been on within the last three years.
4)The book shouldn't simply be written by someone connected to a popular show. For instance, a lot of writers from The Wire also wrote books but some may have been memoirs that had no similarities with the show. While the books can be non-fiction, this group is predominantly about stories that closely align themselves with the TV show in some aspect: storytelling, characters, plot focus, etc.
5) Remember to have fun and enjoy yourself.
