9277 Yes Mimi. Sometimes I have to remind myself that they are not real people. Especially Jamie. I almost want to reach out and touch him. lol...DG does a great job of bringing those characters to life. I am so looking forward to book 8.

9277 Yes Crazy4more, it makes the story more interesting.

9277 Yes Leah I totally agree. Jenny does owe Claire an apology for how unflairly she has treated. I could not believe it when Jenny asked Claire to cure Sr Ian as if Claire was God or the Virgen Mary or something and then to say under her breath "you have no soul". I was flabberghasted. I thought 'Nerve of you Jenny as good as Claire has been to you and your family!"...Some people are so ungrateful. I mean I understand she was upset and suffering over Ian's illness but she did not need to be so cruel to her.

I just had a thought, what is Claire and Jamie set her up with Tom Christy?!" lol....Poor Tom...

9277 LOL..Yes Carren, i agree wholeheartedly. OMG Laoghaore got on my nerves!

9277 Hello. I have to say that my least favorite character is Laoghaire. I did not like her from the first book to the last. And was outraged to discover Jamie married her. Out of all the women why her?! She was always so selfish, mean and immature. I don't care how hard her life was.
Then there is Frank. I liked Frank very much before Claire met Jamie but then I did not care for him when Claire returned to him and could not feel sorry for him even though I know it was not his fault that Claire fell in love with Jamie and never forgot him. Only good thing I could say about him is he raised Bree like his own and took care of them. The worst part to me was when he threatened to take Bree away from Claire the night he died. As for Bree. I wanted to like her and did in the very beginning but I did not care for how she treated Roger sometimes (whom I liked very much). I did not like how she always spoke of 'Daddy Frank' to Jamie. I felt bad for Jamie because he did not get to raise her.
I liked Jenny in the beginning but she annoyed me after that. She was not fair to Claire even though I understand she did not want to lose her brother. I hope she does not give Claire too hard a time when she finds out Claire married Lord John and slept with him. Also I would not want to see her marry again anytime soon. her love for Senior Ian was too great. She needs to take time to herself and do things she has never done to take her mind off Ian's death.
As for Claire, yes she got on my nerves sometimes. Especially when she tried to stop Jamie from killing Jack Randall in the dual in Dragonfly in Amber because of Frank. And I think it was in the Fiery Cross after she poisoned the slave and Jamie tried to talk to her about it and she tried to kick him btwn the legs instead of listening to what he had to say.
I liked Ian alot as well as Fergus. I can't say much about Marsali. Just glad she finally accepted Claire. I also liked Lord John. He could not help falling for Jamie. He has always been good to Jamie and his family. He is a good guy. I like William but am sure I will like him better in the next book,I hope. I am hoping for a quick reconciliation btwn him and his real father Jamie. After all it was Geneva who demanded Jamie go to her bed. I felt sorry for Tom Christy.
And ofcourse Jamie is my favorite. I can't think of anything he's done that has upset me except when his ego was hurt because Laoghiare was sleeping with someone else. He is only human after all.

Claudia I agree with you on that also. That is very unfair of Laoghaire. It's no wonder Jamie is upset.

Elizabeth, thank you for welcoming me. Honestly when I started reading Outlander I did not expect to become OBSESSED with the story and the characters. When people ask me what i like about it the first thing that comes to mind is the strong love and bond btwn Jamie and Claire. Sometimes it seems like they are ONE. I can't picture them with anyone else. I compare it in a way to Edward and Bella from Twilight in that that is what I loved about that story. The chemistry btwn the characters and a love that can't be broken. I find myself wishing Jamie was real. LOL. He is so sexy and sweet. Anyway, I do wonder if they will ever make a movie about it and if so I hope they picl characters as close to the way they are in the book as possible.

Hi Dani, I hope we don't have to wait til 2013 for Outlander book 8. According the the back of DG's book ECHO IN THE BONE it's to be released in 2012. And that's already too long for me. I hope they didn't set it back another year. OMG!

Wendy I could not agree with you more. My sentiments exactly regarding Frank and his infidelities to Claire. It was obvious he was having affairs with different women. 1st because when Claire confronted him with it the night he died that he was leaving her for another woman and taking Bree with him she told him she knew of his affairs and counted maybe 12 or so and he didn't deny it, just acted shocked that she knew all along. Even Bree said she found something in his pocket coat oneday,a note from a woman or something. 2nd the numerous women who went to Claire to ask that she leave her husband in which she replied that he would have to leave if he wanted to, he just had to ask. and 3rd in that letter Roger read to Jamie where Frank told the Rev Wakefield that he Hurt Claire and was not going to go into detail about what he did. What more clues or hints can you get? He was just really good at hiding it or being descreet about it. etc. And was never caught at cheating on her.

9277 Hello! I am a newbie also. In the beginning I was also disturbed about Jamie's reaction to finding out Laoghire was sleeping with another man and he wanted to know who it was. Why should he care?! But then I understood that it was not because he loved or cared for Laoghire but I guess it was his ego that suffered as a man. And I was glad that Claire understood that, considering she went thru same with with Frank because even though she didn't love Frank anymore as she loved Jamie I think it was her ego that suffered as well. Not so much jealousy. I never liked Laoghire for what she did to Claire and how she treated Bree. It's like Mac told Claire once "Jamie needs a real woman not a child. And Laoghire will still be a child when she is 50." I see what he meant. Laoghire should've atleast listened to Jamie when he apologized and tried to forgive him. But no she just acted like a crazy woman and starts hitting him...What's up with that? And I was also happy that Claire finally told Jamie that Laoghire tried to have her killed. As for Frank, I didn't like that he tried to take Bree away from Claire the night he died. I liked him more in the beginning before she met Jamie, then I tolerated him even though at same time I felt sorry for him because it was not his fault she fell in love with Jamie. Anyway I can't wait for book 8 to come out...
