758 Don't forget about St. Patricks Day!!Here we have huge parades in cities and towns and everyone presumes everyone gets pretty drunk..It's not my favourite holiday..Also quick question: Why do a lot of Americans call it St. Patty's Day?I never know if it's a joke or what:)

We also celebrate Good Friday where a lot of workplaces close at 3 so people can do the stations of the cross but a lot of people just take it as an early day off.

758 Warning: this is a pretty gross story

We were brought on a work night out when I worked in a record store about 5 years ago. I had A LOT to drink because it was free. The next morning I was getting a lift to the bus with my parents and I had to bring a plastic bag in the car to get sick into. Then I got on the bus and had to ask the bus driver to let me off after about 2 minutes to be sick again.

So I dragged my very sorry arse into work and was running up and down to the loo all day to be sick. So this woman comes up to the till with a David Gray c.d. and I turned to get it out of the drawer and got sick EVERYWHERE!!All over the c.d., the case, the floor and myself! So i had to turn to her covered in puke and say "I'll have to get someone else to help you" while I ran downstairs to clean myself up. I sprayed myself rather liberally with some Ralph Lauren Polo perfume and I swear to god I haven't worn it since because it actually makes me feel ill. Good times:)

758 I'm currently reading:

Revoltingly Young: The Journals of Nick Twisp's Younger Brother - C.D. Payne

Slut! Growing Up Female with a Bad Reputation- Leora Tanenbaum
and
The Portable Dorothy Parker.

Revoltingly Young is good but I've been consistently disappointed with all the Twispian books post-Youth In Revolt.

The other two are great. I'm kinda dipping in and out of Dorothy Parker and I'm almost finished Slut! I am on a huge reading buzz at the moment..I love when that happens.

758 The Gilmore Girls one was called The Stars Hollow podcast. You can find it here:
http://starshollowpodcast.blogspot.com/

or on iTunes. I still listen to it a lot even though they are out of date.

758 I think someone floated the idea of buying the Independence but Lorelai said it would be too expensive. Either that or I dreamt that whole scene:)

758 I just watched Paris' inaugaration speech in Season 3 and that was awesome..

Plus:

Paris: Thank you, Francie for giving us something really important to mull over here. I anticipate a lot of sleepless nights for many of the people in this room.
(After Francie raised hemlines as an important issue for the Senior class.)

758 I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I thought of this group as soon as I finished it!

It's about smart women in popular culture and on t.v. and there are like a gazillion Gilmore Girls references! It's got whole chapters on the importance of Rory and girls on t.v. with glasses who rock i.e. Lane!

It's got some great stuff in it and I found it a really interesting read. Just thought I would give it a shout-out so other ladies and gents on here could enjoy it as much as I did!

Oh and here's the Amazon link:

758 I listen to 'That's What She Said'- the Office podcast and I still listen to re-runs of the Gilmore Girls one whose name I can't remember but it was done by a husband and wife who were TOO cute.

758 I love Spaced, Blackadder and The Office..

However my current favourite is The I.T. Crowd. Apparently there is an AMerican remake in the works too..Jeez is nothing sacred?I still can't bring myself to watch the Kath and Kim remake.

758 I keep a journal with books/films that I'm looking for and quotes and things that I like..I also take pictures of stuff that I like and throw them in there...It sounds nerdier than it is:)

758 I watched the pilot and hated it. I found the laugh track really intrusive and the dialogue wasn't a patch on our beloved Gilmores.
Mar 07, 2008 06:56AM

758 1)Emma & Persuasion
2)Sense and Sensibility & Agnes Grey
3)The Picture of Dorian Grey & Pygmalion

758 Oh I love this show..My most oft quoted lines are
"I've made a huge tiny mistake"
"Shouldn't you be filming in a cave?"

I loved Anne Veal. The episode where George Michael is talking about running for student president and the two of them get all worked up about what their wedding night will be like is genius..

758 Loving Jennifer Hudson's dress although it makes her boobs look a wee bit odd..
