701 I didn't see a Self-Promotion folder so I hope you don't mind me shamelessly pimping my group :)

If you enjoy reading, or are just curious about, books featuring gay male relationships, please join our group. This genre is growing fast and includes all of the sub-genres you'd find in regular romance books. PNR, Urban Fantasy, SciFi, etc...

We do request that you be at least 18 to join our group since the discussions can sometimes be a little...well adult :)

701 I haven't read Skin Trade yet because I don't like it when Anita is away from home. I did like Blood Noir and Micah because I really like those characters but Obsidian Butterfly was one of my least favorite books as well. I'll eventually get around to reading it but two books in a row away from home is pushing it for me.

701 I've read all of the Sunny books except for the last one which I have on tap to read this month. I like them. It's not my favorite series but I do enjoy them.

I read a lot of M/M stuff. The Soul Mates series by Jourdan Lane is really good. Another good gay vampire series is The Master Chronicles Series by Jamie Craig. I've only read the first book but really enjoyed it.

701 I'm right there with ya mlady. I'd also like to see Asher and Jean-Claude resume their relationship. I'd also like a glimpse into the "training" sessions between Asher and Nathaniel. That was such a tease.

I hope there is some eventual healing between Richard and Anita. Richard takes one step forward and then two steps back. Richard may never be happy about sharing Anita but the white picket fence is a dream he needs to let die. He has a greater purpose to serve and I think he's capable. I hope Laurel will eventually let him stay a step ahead.

701 All good points about both vamps and lycan but what about the fey? How about some hot fairy action? They got it all going on with very little downside as far as I can tell. Of course court politics can be tricky so I guess it would depend on who's running the show. If Merry's in charge and any one of her men is available...I'm so there.

I'm right there with ya Cat. Anita finally agreed to Jean Claude and Asher's relationship and there's been no action ever since. That's not right! I'd also like to see Asher and Nathaniel's "lessons" explored a little bit. How yummy would that be? Edward is okay but I prefer he play a supporting role.

701 Has anyone read the Dark Elves series by Jet Mykles. Her elves are truly black and she has a ton of renderings of them on her website http://www.jetmykles.com/image-galler.... ***Warning - these are erotic and feature nudity and sexual acts***

I tend to picture Doyle looking kind of like them except with black hair and without the markings the elves have.

701 Wow, this thread sure came alive again. Here's something I posted on my Myspace blog. I cleaned up the language a little :)

It's no secret that I'm a huge Anita Blake fan and get rather passionate in my defense of all the sex in the later books. I hear the same complaints all the time. They started out really good and then about half way into the series they become nothing but porn...blah, blah, blah. The sex is what makes Anita become a human being instead of just a zombie raising killing machine. It's the relationships between all of the characters that drives the story and leaves you breathless for the next book. The other thing that really pisses me off is the person who picks up, oh let's say Cerulean Sins, the 11th book in the series and then gives it a scathing review. How can you start any series in the middle and expect to really understand it and enjoy it? You can't. And you've done a huge disservice to the author, the fans, and yourself when you do that. This series is all about the slow build. It's a layering of characters, emotions and power that builds one on top of the other as the series progresses. Anita is undergoing her own metamorphosis. She's transformed from a rigid bitch into a sexual siren. Her harem of sexy bed partners is every woman's fantasy...well, as long as you're into vamps, wereswolves, werecats and being the creamy fiilling between a Jean Claude & Asher sandwich. I, for one, appreciate being able to live vicariously through her sexual adventures. You go girl.

I will concede that I don't really like it when she's forced to have sex with strangers. I much prefer her interactions with the inner circle. I do feel though that the sex is important for the growth of Anita and I think we will find a better balance going forward.

701 Ya know...they all start to blur after awhile as fast as I burn through books. I hate that I can't remember the details better but I read soooo many books and I'm old so the memory isn't what it used to be LOL. I was pretty sure there wasn't a character in any of the books named Furry OR Fury but I could have missed it. I read all of the Kenyon books practically one after the other and some of her characters are a blur too.

701 Thank you Rebecca! Did you remember all that or did you have to go back through the books? I love the world she has created in these books but you really have to pay attention.

701 I'm on the third Merry book and loving them but I'm having a little trouble keeping her family straight. Can someone help me out and let me know if I got this wrong?

Grandmother - is a brownine who had 2 daughters, one is her mother, both Seelie?
Mother - Seelie
Father - was he unseelie but full Sidhe?
Uncle - how is she related to the Seelie King?
Aunt - Unseelie Queen is her father's sister. Any other siblings on this side?

Am I the only one who finds this world a little confusing?
