52937 We can add my novella, The Body in the Bed, to the list of mysteries set in Montevideo. The plot includes elements of whodunit mystery, suspense, and international espionage.

Vincent: Check out message #4, if you haven't already done so. I've lived in Salta and Montevideo and cite the first two books that I wrote that have some of their action taking place in B.A. Two more books since then, The Matador Murders and The Body in the Bed are set in Montevideo. Enjoy!

52937 FREE FOR AMAZON PRIME MEMBERS. A serial killer is leaving a trail of dead women across Chile, Peru, and Bolivia. The gruesome corpses all seem to have died in exactly the same macabre way. There may be a link to a small group of scientists who meet annually in different locations in the region. Roger Bowman and Suzanne Foster are asked by the local police to attend this year’s meeting of the group in Lima, Peru to try to find out who was present at the previous meetings when the murders occurred. And the reader is off on a fast paced pursuit of the killer through Lima, Cuzco, and Machu Picchu in Peru and Chile’s Atacama Desert. This is a true whodunit mystery novel set in an unusual and exotic locale.

52937 Uruguay mainly, with guest shots from Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina The Ambivalent Corpse--- Latin America.

I'd go with The Grapes of Wrath for Oklahoma.

52937 Hi: I've published two mystery novels, both set in South America. The Ambivalent Corpse takes place mostly in Uruguay, with a guest appearance by Iguazu Falls on the Paraguay-Brazil-Argentina border. The Empanada Affair, a prequel to The Ambivalent Corpse, is set in Salta, in Northwest Argentina. I've lived in both Salta and Montevideo, so the books have a real sense of place, as well as fast paced and hard-boiled mystery plots. The next book in this series, "The Surreal Killer", is going through late stage editing and should be published soon. It is set in Peru and Northern Chile. In my spare time I'm a Professor at a large public university's Medical School in the USA and help my wife breed and train German Shorthaired Pointers. I hope some of you who have an interest in the Southern Cone of South America read these books and tell the other Goodreads faithful what you thought about them.

Diane: I have a new series of mystery novels set in South America. The second book The Ambivalent Corpse is set in Montevideo, Uruguay, Southwest Brazil, and Iguazu Falls in Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. I think it's a better mystery novel so would recommend it for being more fun to read and giving you three countries for the price of one. The first book in this series The Empanada Affair is set in the city and province of Salta in Northwest Argentina (note: adult content). The third book, "The Surreal Killer" should be published in a few months, and will take our readers to Peru (including Machu Picchu) and to Northern Chile's Atacama Desert.
