35559 Yes..I read Ink Exchange (Wicked Lovely, #2) by Melissa Marr and was bored to tears. All my friends just raved about that series, and I just didn't understand it. I even tried reading it again a few months ago, but still couldn't get into it.

I agree. I couldn't even get through Narcissus in Chains. That book put me to sleep.

35559 Thanks!! I think books are great for being there when you need them the most. Getting lost in a new different world is a great way to spend your time.

35559 Multiple books for me. I have a book in the bedroom, living room and bathroom (sorry, TMI). Although when I really get into a book, I tend to read it until the very end, ignoring my other 2 books, lol!!

35559 I love paranormal romance, especially the young adult ones. Actually just young adult books in general, lol!! I haven't been a teenager for 8 years (I'm 25 and married)!!

I also really really love Amish books. Their whole life is interesting to me. I also recently read a book about polygamists, called Hidden Wives, so now I'm wondering if there are more books like that out there.

35559 I started reading vampire books before they became really popular. It started with the Undead series and just took off from there for me. I sorta stopped reading them though. They all seem the same. I am still loyal to some vampire books like, Vampire Academy, HON & the Sookie books. If I'm going to read a vampire book, I like it to have a different spin on vampires.

What annoys me is all the vampire shows now. True Blood & Vampire Diaries are good. But The Gates? STUPID!!! I read somewhere that there is going to be another vampire show. I wish they would bring back Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I really really miss that show.

35559 Certain Girls by Jennifer Weiner!! I HATE this book with a passion!!!! I loved Good in Bed, so I thought Certain Girls would be just as good. But nope..it wasnt!! I hated how the little brat was mean to her mom!!!! My mom passed away 4 years ago, and I cannot stand it when someone treats their mom like crap. This book ticked me off so much, I basically threw it across the room.

35559 This is going to sound stupid..but 2 books have changed my life.

The first one was Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret. I read it in the 4th grade, and it has just always stuck with me. I guess it sort of taught me what to expect when I got a little older. Boys, periods, bras, friends, boobs ("we must, we must, we must increase our bust" I can't tell you how many times my friends & I did that in the girl's bathroom!! LOL!!). Are You There God had such a huge impact on my young life.

The other is Twilight. Now, before everyone starts on the hating Twilight bandwagon, let me just explain something. This saga came into my life when I needed it the most. My mom had just died, my husband was deployed. I was very lonely and depressed. I was suffering from panic attacks every single day. I had Twilight for awhile before I read it. I found it while cleaning and decided to start reading it. Something about the story just gripped me. It made me happy again. It reconnected me with friends who had read it too. It got me out of the house so I could buy New Moon & Eclipse. It gave me something to be passionate about again. Around the time the movie was out, I discovered a new world!! I've met a ton of wonderful people through Twilight. I'm so thankful for this book.

35559 My current purchase was the last 2 of the Percy Jackson & The Olympians books. I know, they're kids books, but so is Harry Potter, and Twilight is for teens, lol!! My husband & I are started to get interested in the books after we saw the movies. OH..I also bought Undead & Unfinished the other day too.
