893093 Update for today!

Maps of Bliss and Rage - 100 pages
American Overdose: The Opioid Tragedy in Three Acts - 124 pages - FINISHED
Art Matters - 112 pages - FINISHED

336 pages so far.

I'm starting The Goblin Emperor and The Man They Wanted Me to Be: Toxic Masculinity and a Crisis of Our Own Making today. I'll update with those counts tomorrow.

893093 Alrighty!

So far I've read 124 pages of American Overdose: The Opioid Tragedy in Three Acts (finished it)

And about 20 pages of Maps of Bliss and Rage (just started)

It looks like I'm a little behind....but I have a long drive after work, so I think I'll pick up an audiobook for that.

893093 YES!!! I don’t know what my reading list is quite yet.

But I think I’ll be tackling Maps of Bliss and Rage....and The Goblin Emperor. And finishing American Overdose.

I’m on the app, so can’t tag the books. But I am SO IN.

893093 Ok, so I did not hit my goal.

I finished 265 pages of Maplecroft (The Borden Dispatches, #1) by Cherie Priest
I read the 77-page novella Slaying It (Chicagoland Vampires, #13.5) by Chloe Neill
I only read 61 pages of American Overdose The Opioid Tragedy in Three Acts by Chris McGreal
And I started Imbeciles The Supreme Court, American Eugenics, and the Sterilization of Carrie Buck by Adam Cohen in audiobook, and got about 110 pages in.

That brings my total to 513 pages for the readathon. Which isn't a bad showing, considering I came in late and had a stupid busy week. I can't wait for the next one!

893093 I'm coming in late, but I'm in! My mom had major surgery on Wednesday, and went home this weekend, so I haven't read a single sentence!

My goals for the rest of this readathon are to finish these lovelies:

As She Ascends (Fallen Isles, #2) by Jodi Meadows - 327 pages left
Maplecroft (The Borden Dispatches, #1) by Cherie Priest - 265 pages left
American Overdose The Opioid Tragedy in Three Acts by Chris McGreal - 232 pages left

That'll make 824 pages my goal. Let's rock and roll!

893093 I'm crossing my fingers for more of these in May. I got most of my April reading in this readathon.
Apr 22, 2019 11:43AM

893093 Alright, I'm calling this one early today.

I finished Pretty Monsters Stories by Kelly Link (289 pages)
I read Pretending He's Mine (Caught Up in Love, #2) by Lauren Blakely (144 pages)
And I'll be finishing An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard before I leave work today. (352 pages)

That'll bring my readathon total to 785 pages, which isn't too shabby if you include the holiday weekend. I read nothing Saturday or Sunday.

If I start anything else before the readathon is officially over, I'll consider it a bonus and not bother to count it, since I haven't picked a next book yet. WOO!! When's the next one?

Bird Box is one of my favorites. It's so wonderful.

893093 Not too shabby - read 289 pages to finish out Pretty Monsters Stories by Kelly Link

Now I'll scrap my planned TBR and read these instead:

Pretending He's Mine (Caught Up in Love, #2) by Lauren Blakely
An Unkindness of Magicians by Kat Howard
Apr 17, 2019 05:47AM

893093 WOOHOO!!

So, as it turns out, two of my current reads match the prompts!

Pretty Monsters Stories by Kelly Link has flowers on the cover
No Way Home A Memoir of Life on the Run by Tyler Wetherall has pastels on the cover

I may finish one of them today, though, so who knows if I'll count them for the readathon. The rest of my readathon TBR is galleys that I NEED to read ASAP.

The Charmer in Chaps (Princes of Texas #1) by Julia London
Revolutionaries by Joshua Furst
The Den by Abi Maxwell

893093 Will we be having any in April?

893093 Is it too late to join the You'd Be Mine buddy read list?
Apr 01, 2019 07:06AM

893093 Forgot to update yesterday, but I ended up with a total weekend count of about 250 pages. But I DID finish The Cowboy and His Baby, which had been a slog to get into. So I'll count it as a win! Now onto something I REALLY REALLY want to read!!
Mar 29, 2019 10:07AM

893093 I read 22 pages of Mr. Mercedes and have put it down. It's a DNF for me. I can't take even the suggestion of violence against animals, so I'm outie on that one. Still counting those pages, though.
Mar 29, 2019 07:12AM

893093 HECKIN YES I'm counting today!! Because tomorrow and Sunday I've got Boy Scout stuff that requires my participation...or at least my vehicle. :(

My goal is to get 400 pages read this weekend, and/or finish at least one of the following:
Mr. Mercedes (Bill Hodges Trilogy, #1) by Stephen King
The Cowboy and His Baby by Jessica Clare
Mar 26, 2019 09:31AM

893093 I'd like to start reading Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother's Will to Survive in a few days. Does anyone want to read it with me?
Mar 21, 2019 12:02PM

893093 My final count ended up just over 300 pages, because yesterday was a disaster from hell and today hasn't been better.

I would like another readathon soon so that I can redeem myself. :D
Mar 19, 2019 12:18PM

893093 Alrighty. So far, I have read 190 pages of The Best Bad Things, 12 pages of The Cowboy and His Baby, and listened to ~80 pages of Retribution Rails. That one was the hardest to count.

So, in two and a half days, I've got roughly almost pages read. I think I'll keep reading the first two and not bother with the audiobook until after the readathon because it's more complicated than I feel like dealing with.
Mar 18, 2019 05:25PM

893093 68 more pages today. I’m a slowpoke. Or I’m just not so into this book I’m reading. What to dooo?
Mar 18, 2019 08:33AM

893093 Heyyy a question. How do you estimate page counts on an audiobook??

I just started one today and got an hour in before realizing I have no idea how much that would be on paper?? Do I just give the total page count when I finish it? Or put it off until after the readathon because it's too much hassle?
